Things aren't what you expected. EVER.

So I was able to take a week off work and go to Utah, WAHOO!! I haven't been there since I moved away, and some things didn't end as well as I would have liked to before I left. I was happy to try to mend some bridges, calm some people and just have fun. But things can't go like that at all can they?

I didn't have a car, and I REALLY wanted to see some people. So my BFF Kristi went ahead and helped me out. That did end up making things kind of awkward as some of the people I wanted to see were people she either didn't know, didn't like, or didn't want to see. Or all the above. We ended up spending almost every minute together, not what I had pictured of my vacation. It was great, I enjoyed seeing her but I wasn't expecting so much together time.

I did have some music on a friends computer, and wanted to get it off, but REALLY wanted to see her and see how she was doing. Things didn't end as good as I would have liked them to, and I hoped we could put it all behind us. I thought we had, and she was distracted as was I by trying to make sure my friend was all right, not too bored, trying to find "safe" topics of conversation we could all follow on. It actually turned out to be a very bad visit. It took almost the whole time there with me on her computer, eventually transfering everything to my iPod and worrying about it later. I did NOT want her to think I only came for her music, that was NOT my intention. Unfortunately it ended up being just that. She was upset, rightly so. And she was busy with her job and family and I felt like I was just in the way. So it wasn't what I expected.

Then today, I go to work, and have 7 massages to have to do. That's a lot by anyone's standards. I did them all, felt good about my work, and came home. Then I get a text from my boss that she just spent 45 minutes listening to someone complain about my massage. My last client, whom I busted my butt on. I listened to what she wanted, asked for feedback on the massage, and she seemed to fall asleep. She ended up reaming me to my boss about stuff that she NEVER TOLD ME to concentrate on. SO my boss is giving her to someone else to work on the next time we are open, and just wanted to let me know so we could talk about it on Tuesday.

I DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT!! You feel like you're in a principals office while they try to tell you how to do your job, when you are trained and qualified. And, oh ya, they HIRED you to do this job. Not everyone will like you. Not everyone will like your massage. That's expected. But because she is newly rich, she is freaked out that she may tell all her new rich friends like her all about this, and she is desperate to keep them all happy.

I don't care if you are rich or poor, white or black, male or female, high political ties in the community or a regular joe. I treat every single client the same. I don't kiss feet, I don't shine shoes, and I DON'T bow down because someone complains. If they have something to say, say it to my face. Don't wait until you are SURE I am gone, and then talk to my boss. I am the one that should know if you have a problem so I can work on it, not have to be scolded by someone who is NOT my parent. It really annoys me, can you tell?

SO after all this goes down, I get an e-mail dredging up things in the past, and a plea that we can work through it and renew a friendship. I was in shock. I didn't think our friendship was in jeopardy. Of course we had ups and downs, but so does everyone. Things ended badly, yes. But I had tried to make it for the best, and yes it is still hard to look this person in the eye and know what to talk to them about. Our lives are completely different. We are on different paths. It's like a panther asking a deer about their life. Completely different animals, situations, etc.

So all this comes at the end of a VERY long week and I have to ask that if ANYONE else feels jilted, hurt, betrayed, annoyed, angry, or anything else please put it in your back pocket and wait a while before you ask me to "work through it" because I have stuff to work through right now that may take a while. Like recovering from the shocking blows that were just landed tonight by my boss and by a friend.

Hopefully this too shall pass quickly. I can't do this much longer. I can't worry that anything I do or say is going to end up causing a fight, or by massaging someone and NOT reading their mind that I may be in jeopardy of having to PAY for the massage I just gave because the client was not happy. The life of a spa sucks. Never work in one if you can help it.

What a crazy wonderful day.

First of all, Daniel went through the Temple today. It was absolutely beautiful, the experience was amazing. I had a few questions, and thankfully they were answered. Laughs.

I admit that I am a little worried about getting married eventually, and I know it will happen someday but you just have to wonder when you aren't getting any prospects.

But enough about me, let's talk about the day. I went out shopping with my mom, and the crazy part was that we stopped and got a soda at the Target. We got home, and I threw my soda bottle in my target bag with my candy bar, and my iPod. Do you SEE where this is going?!?

So I get into my room, and throw the bag on my bed. For some reason I think I need to grab my iPod so I start to look for it, and I can't find it in my purse. I am starting to freak out when I remember that it is in my bag instead of my purse. So I grab my bag, and look in it. To my horror, the soda had OPENED and had spilled inside the bag, and my iPod was floating on top!!! Now the bag had only been lifted where it moved to that side for a moment, so I was hoping that nothing bad happened, but that didn't stop me from FREAKING out, grabbing it, flipping out all the liquid that was on it, and grabbing my hair dryer to dry out the iPod. It freaked out for a SECOND, so my heart was stopping.

But the thing is, that my iPod is fine. Thankfully. I was completely blessed that it is working fine. I played with it for a bit to make sure, and dried it out completely with the dryer. I hooked it up to the computer, and it's okay as well.

So today has been absolutely wonderful. My foot is swollen because of my shoes, but that was my fault, so I need to take it easy tonight. My mom will probably post more about Daniel, but I do have to say that it was amazing to be in the Temple with my whole family. That was just a dream come true for everyone. Absolutely wonderful.

Better go though, let you know if anything happens or changes soon!!! :D

Blessings Come in ALL Shapes and sizes...

While some things are appreciated, some are just a pain in the butt. I have had a bunch of work, and it really is making it hard for me to keep going on with my work. I am getting tired of it, and REALLY am looking forward to a night off. Well, really a day off.... I need to be able to go for another 3 days, and that is going to be hard. I have a full day tomorrow, probably going to be full on Saturday and Friday. It is only Wednesday right? Wow....
I am hopefully going to be able to get out of here in June for a week, and take a break. We'll see what happens.

Owie

This week has been SO hard. The woman I work with had to take a leave of absence for medical reasons. She will be gone for about a month.

So that means I get the PRIVILAGE of taking all the clients that she worked on as well as being the main therapist on staff. So... I have been working SO hard. My shoulder has been killing me for the past 2 days, and it won't seem to stop. It is really frustrating, because I can't really raise my arm past my shoulder without it hurting, and when you have to reach for something during a massage it makes it very difficult.

So... This week I have done 24 hours of work. I average about 15 hours in a given week if I am lucky.

Wow, I am tired now. So I am going to go take 3 advil, a large glass of water, and go to bed. I hurt. My feet hurt, my arm hurts, my head hurts, and my legs hurt. Not my hands, which is weird. You would think that they would, but they don't.

Blog Train coming soon to Sunshiny Daze Designs.

Hey everyone, I am going to be joining a blog train on May 1st! Meaning that there will be kits for digital scrapbooking to download. I will also be putting some freebies on my design blog, so please come check it out in the next few days! I'm very excited about this, and hopefully I will be able to join the Sweet Tarts Store in a few more months. I just started to design, so I didn't feel quite ready for the task. But I will be putting up some mini kits as freebies, and some overlays if everything works out the way I want it to so YOU can start designing if you would like.

So please check out my design blog, and pick up these freebies that I have worked so hard on.

AND if anyone has any ideas for any kits they want to see, or want something in particular let me know. I am ALWAYS looking for new ideas.

Busy busy busy

Since my computer has been repaired, I need to be able to catch up on my digital kits. I haven't been working on them as hard as I need to, but I finally got 2 out of the 3 done that I need to, and now I need to make a preview for the kits.

I have been busy working, the spa is still inconsistent which is what is expected. It gets busy, and then it gets slow, so that's how it all goes. I am not complaining as long as I have some work. I don't like being idle. It drives me crazy.

I am trying hard to rejoin the singles in the area, but they are so young and it makes me feel so crazy. I don't like the fact that I feel like I am the mom looking after all the young ones, they are all just out of high school or just getting home from their missions... Crazy stuff.

It has been enough to keep me pretty busy, so I will try to update when I have more to say.

Moved

So I have officially MOVED back into my parents house. I had a TERRIBLE cold after I moved in, my poor family. It was bad, it made my breathing hard. I could barely talk because I couldn't breathe when I talked, so it was pretty scary. It seemed like I had pneumonia, or Bronchitis. It was pretty scary for me, I don't have insurance.
I went to bed that night, and got a fever. It was pretty bad, I lay in my bed and it was just like I was in an oven. I was burning up and not sweating. Lovely, huh? So we put on the humidifier, and my mom checked on me a few times. When I woke up the next morning, I had better breathing, thank goodness! And my fever was gone, so that was fabulous. I was still coughing, and it was just nice to be able to breathe. I got up and I had no energy whatsoever. I spent about a week in my house, in my room with the humidifier going and on my bed. I finally got my bed moved over once the wind died down, it was pretty bad. The winds were about 60 mph so we couldn't exactly get the trailer over to my sister's to get the bed.
My poor work, I had to take a week off and get over this cold. It was annoying because I never take time off work. EVER. But now, I have a cough that only comes when it wants to hack up a lung. It's lovely, but whatever it is or how long it's going to take to get rid of, I hope it doesn't affect my work. How much fun will it be to get a massage when the massage therapist is coughing all over you? Or can't breathe because she is coughing so hard? Laughs, that may be something the spa doesn't like.... But it would sure be a bunch of giggles and grins, right?
